Pu-Erh Tea-time!

Evening folkies,
I'm just about to settle down to yet another experimental session of tea-drankin'! Karmen really had no IDEA what a great gift she was giving me when she gave me the selection of chinese teas.
Tonight, I will be breaking my Pu-Erh Tea cherry!!
Again - this is loose leaf tea - so if anyone knows where I can pick up a tea-leaf strainer...I'd be happier than a chinese monk with a big fat au-naturale boner from green tea intake.
The dry leaves don't look much different than the Ooo Long tea.
Pu-erh tea, has an ... "earthy" taste, I guess you could call it - and really pretty reddish/brown - almost pale-wine colour..
Supposedly - it aids in digestion and like many teas - speeds up fat metabolism and is KNOWN as the PERFECT tea to include in a weight loss plan. After a bit of research, I discovered that Pu-erh is also named after its place of origin in China. Drinking Pu-erh tea can help reduce cholesterol, and it helps digestion (particularly of fatty foods), so this would probably be REALLY good after a heavy meal.
Today - all I had to eat was a bowl of soy milk and granola for breakfast, a garden salad with a garden wrap in a whole weat tortilla for lunch - and another bowl of granola with a few whole grain tortilla chips on the side for dinner.
Yeah...kinda boring.
But - I think by making a conscious effort to mix up my liquid diet a bit by using these cool teas and some juicing - I'll be healthier as hell.
FYI - there are six (6) cold beers in my fridge...the low carb sleeman clear - that I LOVE LOVE LOVE...and I really SHOULD(n't) be having those right now....
but - I guess for tonight, I'll stick to tea - with tea on it.
Gonna go watch a movie...
night,
Dan

this particular tea...which is pronounced "boo-lang" for some reason, also helps to rid the body of alcohol. perfect hangover tea.
very earthy to taste- if you pick up a handful of wet dirt and smell it, you can almost imagine the taste.
the leaves can be the size of a maple leaf sometimes- it's my favourite.
oh, and dan, you can buy a loose tea kettle at any dishware store (stokes, for example). bodum is a good brand to buy. i've had mine for over three years and not a chip out of it.
